LISTEN LISTEN LISTEN

LAST BATTLE INTERVIEW

LAST BATTLE

1. Please introduce yourselves and tell us what you do in the band?

Justin Roberts, I sing and play guitar, Jeremy John is on bass and backs me up live with vocals,
and Daniel pounds the drums.

2. How did you girls/guys end up coming together as a band?

I formed the band in 2007 and have been through numerous changes till around September 2013,
and that's when this line up became solid and has been since then.

3. Do the core fans of the band have a particular song they really seem to have latched onto?

Hmm, I would say it's between one of our newer songs that we're going to be recording for our EP,
it's called Razor Ramon, has nothing to do with the wrestler but has a very good hook to it. Another
song people latch on is called The Switch, the song is really catchy. You can hear our music on
reverbnation.com/lastbattlenation we just put out a demo of one of our newer songs called Monsters.

4,5. What is the concept behind the name of your album, "album name", what does that mean?
Who is producing "album name", and what has the experience been like so far?

We are currently working on an EP at the moment. We don't have a name for it yet. It should be
out sometime later this year. If there is a concept behind it, It's that it's us, as in it sounds like us.
We don't ever want to sound like we are trying to hard, because then it wouldn't be sincere. Producer?
We haven't made it official, but we have someone in mind. We've never had a producer before so it's
going to be something new, we'll see how it goes.

6. When fans come to an "name of the show" show, what kind of show can they hope to see?

IF you come to Last Battle show, expect LOUD! We love to play as loud. There is only 3 of us, so we
really have to make up for the 4th member lol. But I think that is what gives us our charm. There is only 3
of us and we can make that much noise. Hopefully you catch us on a good night lol. You're either going
to get a really epic performance or a train wreck lol. Just being honest, but all our out of town gigs we
somehow know like "oh shit, we can't suck." And by some divine miracle we pull it off. So if you catch us
outside of our town, 98.9% it's going to be awesome!

7. Are you girls/guys generally considered to be a good live band?

I think we answered this in the previous question but generally. I think we're good live. We are not
polished, we are just raw. If we tried to be polished and hit every note perfect, and play our songs the
same every night, it would get boring for us. We like to keep the sincerity.

8. Describe your typical fan.

Typical fan. I don't think I can describe that. We don't care what background you come from really.
As long as you like our music, thats fine with us!

9. What's the biggest show you have played so far and how did it go?

Biggest show. March 2014, the chemicals free tour with Hed Pe and Smile Empty Soul. This was
our second time opening for Smile Empty Soul. The first time was on St Patty's day 2009. But this last
time was just big because there was so many people there and a barricade. That's how you know a
show is serious when they roll out the barricade. But it was fun, we were really nervous, but everyone
was receptive to us that night and we sold out of merch. So that's a good sign right? lol. But it's just an
honor to play with bands that we grew up listening to.

10. What's the worst experience you ever had while out touring with the band?

Worst experience was traveling back from Houston, we got no sleep and had to drive back the
same night to record a few demos, and we almost wrecked because of a bunny, and 8 energy drinks
aren't good for your kidneys lol. Let's just say that.

11. When you're out there on the road, do you have an agenda to connect with people?

Yes, we actually do enjoy talking to people. Especially from other cities. People make or break a
night, and so far everyone has made our nights when we do play in uncharted territories.

12. If you could put together the "perfect tour", what bands yould you pick to tour with and why?

Perfect tour: Chevelle, Seether, Smile Empty Soul. I think we would all fit together. Those are bands
that we look up to, and plus we'd get to watch them every night.

13. What's your favorite band of all time?

I (Justin) favorite all time band, Nirvana. Jeremy's is Seether, and Daniel's is Metallica.

14. What is your favorite album or song that you can't stop listening to right now?

Currently we've been jamming a lot of Psychostick, love those guys. Seether's new album Isolate
and Medicate, and La Gargola from Chevelle, still hasn't left my car stereo yet. it's been in there a good
4 or 5 months lol.

15. What are your hopes for the future regarding "name of the band"?

Come whatever may! We just want people to listen to what we put out, and hopeully like it and tell
a friend. That's a really good feeling when a stranger likes your band. That's what we hope for, more
people to like our music

16. Where do you see yourselves in 10 years?

I don't even want to think about that. lol

17. Where are ya from?

We are from San Antonio, TX and Daniel is from Elmendorf, TX.

18. Who is the primary writer of the song lyric's?

I (justin) mainly write everything, But lately we've all been throwing ideas around for songs, It helps
take the load off my shoulders.

19. Do you prefer indoor or outdoor while playing?

We haven't played many outdoor shows. we'd love to play more outdoor shows, Indoors is all the
same. Just a different venue ya know lol.

20. Ultimate stage fantasy? What would you most want to happen?

Ultimate stage fantasy, Just have a giant crowd swallow the stage. That would look sick. But no one
get hurt! We hate that, we hate fights. We don't ever want to see that. I think music and fighting don't
belong together unless it's an organized event. I think people who go to concerts just to fight are so silly.

21. What is your hidden talents?

Jeremy is really awesome at the grill, he won't admit it lol. Daniel is pretty good on the xbox live.
Me (Justin), I'm pretty good at identifying Simpson episodes by a still frame.

Thanks for interviewing us, what you do is really awesome! And it's awesome you let us do this. Thanks!

INTERVIEW BY JAX JAXMETALMOOSE@GMAIL.COM

MONGREL INTERVIEW

Mongrel

1. please introduce yourselves and tell us what you do in the band.

Adam:  Hello. This is Adam Savage and I'm the guitarist from Mongrel.  The band is
made up of myself (obviously), Jessica Sierra (singer), Mike "Hoagie" Hogan
(drums), and Michael "Blue" Ariza (bass).

2. how did you girls/guys end up coming together as a band?

Adam:  I started the band about 11 years ago and we had various line ups
come and go, but until 4 years ago we always had male singers. About 4 years
ago one of them had left the band abruptly and I called on my friend Jess who I
knew through the local scene and was a big fan of her singing to see if she could
cover some shows with us. Longer story shorter, it worked out amazingly well,
she threw her name in the hat for the full time position and it's been awesome
since in that realm. Hoagie's been with us 2 years now and his old band had
played a show with us a year prior so when he saw our listing for a new drummer
on craigslist he got in touch, clicked great with his audition and about 2 weeks
later played his first show with us while opening for the Butcher Babies and Otep
(not a shabby debut if you ask me!).  Blue has been with us about a year and a
half now, I had found him on bandmixx.com while looking to find a new bassist.
He came to meet us at a show we were doing with a fill-in bassist and instantly
clicked, the audition went great and I believe it was a couple of weeks later he
debuted with us opening for another national act (no pressure on the newbies eh?).
We've been really lucky with this line up and having such a great team and family
together on this.

3. do the core fans of the band have a particular song they really seem to have latched onto?

Adam:  There's a few of them for sure.... "No Gods No Masters" is our anthem essentially and
is always a fun sing-along for the fans.... of the newer stuff I'd say "Snakes" and "Over and Over"
from the new "Evolution" cd are the fan favorites.

4. what is the concept behind the name of your album, "Evolution", what does that mean?

Adam:  Essentially it's the next "evolution" of the band, how we write, and taking it all to the
next levels with the people we worked with on the cd. In the past I essentially had written
nearly all of the songs/lyrics/etc. where as now with this line up and with the tunes on
"Evolution" it's much more of a collaborative effort than it had ever been in the band and
it truly has evolved the approach and taken it to that next step I think.  The tunes we've
written since recording "Evolution" I think are continuing with that growth and we're all
really excited about how things are going.

5. who is producing "Evolution"  and what has the experience been like so far?

Adam:  We recorded with Jim Foster at Red 13 Media here in Massachusetts who has
recorded all 4 of our cds we've put out now since Jess joined the group. Jim has worked
on cds from POD, Nullset, Thy Will Be Done, Sully Erna, and he did the new Godsmack
video as well.  He really "gets" us at this point and we're incredibly comfortable working
with him and gets the best out of us so that was great. Then thanks to a successful
kickstarter campaign coming through thanks to our amazing friends and fans, we were
able to get Dave Fortman (Slipknot, Otep, Evanescence, Snot, Soil, Godsmack) to mix
the new cd and we got Howie Weinberg (Pantera, Metallica, The Cult, Soundgarden,
Nirvana, and about 85% of my favorite cds of all time) to do the mastering. To top it off we
got Joey James (Otep, Type O Negative, Biohazard, Butcher Babies, etc) to do the
graphic work for the cd so it has been a great experience working with people who's
work I'm a fan of and getting to get them involved in what we're doing.

6. when fans come to a Mongrel show, what kind of show can they hope to see?

Adam:  It's typically high energy, fun, intense and hopefully interactive. We love the exchange
with the audience both on stage and off so we're not a band hiding in a dressing room by
any means. We're always hanging out, checking out the other bands and happy to talk to
the fans.  We want people to move, have fun, sing/scream along, and to share in the
experience with us.  There's not a fancy light show, there's not a fake encore break, there's
no never ending solos, no backing tracks, etc...it's a REAL rock show and we want
everyone to really have a fun and cathartic experience with us.

7. are you girls/guys generally considered to be a good live band?

Adam:  Hah hah. Well I certainly hope so!  People show up more than once so I'm
guessing we do pretty well ;)

8. describe your typical fan.

Adam:  It's hard to say... we've got old school rock fans, some people into punk, some
metalheads, men, women, it's a good cross section honestly.  Generally it seems to be
a more aware and really understanding fanbase which is awesome. Our shows are a
safe place for people who may not always feel they fit in so it becomes a cool little
community among the fans. We've seen lots of friendships and even lasting relationships
over the years come from that and it's pretty amazing to see.

9. whats the biggest show you have played so far and how did it go?

Adam:  We've been really fortunate and been able to play with bands such as Korn, Gwar,
Danzig, Lacuna Coil, Godsmack, Misfits, Halestorm, etc so I'm not sure quite which was
the "biggest" but all of them have been a great time and gone really well.

10. whats the worst experience you ever had while out touring with the band?

Adam:  Technical issues always make for a rough night for sure.  Having to fire a band
member (years ago) after a set is never a good evening... Thankfully not things that
couldn't be overcome and learned from.

11. when you're out there on the road, do you have an agenda to connect with people?

Adam:  "agenda" seems kind of contrived and corporate but yes, I definitely want to meet
and connect with people when we're out playing shows. That's typically a really fun part
of what we do.

12. if you could put together the "perfect tour", what bands would you pick to tour with and why?

Adam:  Let's go with the super fantasy package tour of us with Guns N' Roses, Pearl Jam, and
Metallica then.  I think it would be a good fit where our aggressive and more melodic songs
would all fit in, and how could you go wrong getting to listen to all 3 bands every night...maybe
even the fantasy guest appearance or something...

13. whats your favorite band of all time?

Adam: Probably Pearl Jam or Guns N' Roses (hard to say)

14. what is your favorite album or song that you can't stop listening to right now?

Adam:  I'm in love with this UK band called Dogstate and their album "Let it Loose" -
think The Cult meets Danzig with more groove to it.  It's been in heavy rotation in my
car for MONTHS and never gets old.

15. what are your hopes for the future regarding Mongrel?

Adam:  We'd love to get over to the UK sometime. More touring and shows here at
home of course and we want to see how far we can take this while playing by our rules
and doing our own thing and just really not fitting into the cookie cutter "you should
sound like this" mold.  As the song "Oxygen Mask" from "Evolution" says, "who knows
what the future brings...."

16. where do you see yourselves in 10 years?

Adam:  On tour ? Retired?  who knows.  lol

17. where are ya from?

Adam:  We're based in the north eastern part of Massachusetts and southern New
Hampshire (US).

18. who is the primary writer of the song lyrics?

Adam:  For a long time it was me, but now Jess is taking on a bigger role in the lyrics
going forward which I'm excited about so as to get to share some of the responsibilities
in that regard. Plus she's got a lot to say too!

19. do you prefer indoor or out door while playing?

Adam: I prefer indoor shows personally both for playing and for shows I attend.

20. ultimate stage fantasy? what would you most want to happen?

Adam:  Is this THAT kind of website?? lol.   I'd say getting to guest with one of my favorite
bands or getting one of my favorite artists to do a guest spot with us.

21. what is your hidden talents?

Adam:  Keeping talents hidden while answering interviewers questions probably.  ;)
I handle most of the band business/management stuff so thankfully I had some natural
instinct and desire to learn that over the years as well.  I also make really good french
toast on occasion !
INTERVIEW BY JAX JAXMETALMOOSE@GMAIL.COM

MACHINE IN THE MOUNTAIN INTERVIEW

MACHINE IN THE MOUNTAIN

1. Please introduce yourselves and tell us what you do in the band?

John - Guitars,  JoJo - Guitars, Doug - Bass,  Mikey - Drums

2. How did you girls/guys end up coming together as a band?

Craigslist was the middleman for us, more or less. John's previous band dissolved
so he posted an ad that he was starting up another act. JoJo, who had been jamming
with Doug and Mikey for years answered and the rest is history.

3. Do the core fans of the band have a particular song they really seem to have latched onto?

So far, "A God of My Own Design" has come out on top.

4. What is the concept behind the name of your album, "album name", what does that mean?

"Erosion Probable," at first, started out as a quick acronym for "EP," which was the
format of our first release. People who have heard the name have interpreted it as meaning
that the songs can carve valleys.

5. Who is producing "album name", and what has the experience been like so far?

We produced it with our top-tier audio engineer, Paul Odom of Church of Bigfoot in Tulsa,
Oklahoma. Constructing "Erosion Probable" was frustrating, exciting, fantastic, and energizing.
Odom gave some really intriguing critiques and expected nothing less than perfect takes as the
recording progressed and the result was a polished, pristine release of which we couldn't be prouder.

6. When fans come to an "name of the show" show, what kind of show can they hope to see?

A Machine in the Mountain show is a performance imbued with primal energy and electric,
organic sexiness that really includes every audience member who wants a piece of the action.
It's loud, heavy, and nothing short of excellent.

7. Are you girls/guys generally considered to be a good live band?

We'd like to think so, but you'd really have to ask someone who's been to a couple of shows.

8. Describe your typical fan.

Well, it's got four blades, three settings, and generally runs off 110V AC.

9. What's the biggest show you have played so far and how did it go?

We opened up for Chimaira, Oceano, and and Iwrestledabearonce at the Vanguard in Tulsa.
Despite the ten minute set and being the odd-men-out as far as metal styles, we played to a
packed house and induced several moshpits.

10. What's the worst experience you ever had while out touring with the band?

We'd have to say it was in Kansas last month. While the show went really well and the venue
took extremely good care of us while there, we kept tripping breakers during our set -- one side
of the stage would go silent, then the other, but all things considered it was still a very productive,
profitable show and tour.

11. When you're out there on the road, do you have an agenda to connect with people?

We do, absolutely. Metal around the world is a very much collaborative family and we think a
band that can foster a good relationship with fans, venues, and other bands can't go wrong.

12. If you could put together the "perfect tour", what bands would you pick to tour with and why?

Excellent question. There are some regional acts we really love; a KingShifter (KS),
Blackwater Rebellion (OK), Earthrot (TX), and Machine in the Mountain show would be a sight
to behold. Broadening the parameters to national and international acts, a Devin Townsend Project,
Animals as Leaders, Intronaut, Gojira, Baroness, Meshuggah, Machine in the Mountain tour would
be the bee's knees.

13. What's your favorite band of all time?

Our favorites are Tool, Motley Crue, Deftones, and Devin Townsend Project, but our influences
range widely. All four of us just blurted out "Led Zeppelin" simultaneously, so that's gotta be the one
on which we all agree.

14. What is your favorite album or song that you can't stop listening to right now?

There are several staple albums and songs, so there isn't a definite answer on that.

15. What are your hopes for the future regarding "name of the band"?

Tours, excellent music, and an all around satisfying musical career for the four of us are the goals.

16. Where do you see yourselves in 10 years?

Playing a massive show in the High Senate Chamber of the Intergalactic Federation orbiting
T'k'k'talaan'k, a blue-white star in the Triangulum Galaxy. John has to invent a space-folding engine first,
but he assures us he's working on it.

17. Where are ya from?

We are from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Pretty far from T'k'ktalaan'k, but we'll get there.

18. Who is the primary writer of the song lyric's?

Lyrics? We have a pilot snake named Martha.

19. Do you prefer indoor or outdoor while playing?

Indoor, but outdoor if it's nice enough. None o' this 110 degree, 90% humidity crap.

20. Ultimate stage fantasy? What would you most want to happen?

We want to create a wormhole at Red Rocks Amphitheater with stage volume alone ---
the loudness of the monitor mix sets the wormhole's coordinates and hopefully the EQ doesn't
land us on Arrakis.

21. What is your hidden talents?

Beer. That is our hidden talent.
INTERVIEW BY JAX JAXMETALMOOSE@GMAIL.COM

KOMATRYP INTERVIEW

KOMATRYP

1. please introduce yourselves and tell us what you do in the band.

"I'm James(my friends call me Roy) I play lead guitar/backing vocals/songwriter along
with my brothers Mike Lorentz:Vocals/Songwriting/some guitars; Clanton Miller:Bass;
Brad Disney:Guitars; Nani Vissepo:Drums that is KOMATRYP. We're a metal band,
our sound is very aggressive mixing hardcore, groove and death metal aspects in it.
We call style 'Junkyard Groove'..."

2. how did you girls/guys end up coming together as a band?

"Myself and MIKE been jamming in/out of bands since 1993 while still in high school.
Year later in 2001 our other childhood friend CLANTON picked up the bass guitar and
we form Komatryp. Had 2 kid still in high school join us(BRAD was 1 of them). Between
2003-2007 we got a new drummer NANI and downsized to 4 members til this past year
and brought Brad back in on 2nd guitar..."

3. do the core fans of the band have a particular song they really seem to have latched onto?

"Quite a bit, Over the years its kinda changed from time to time. We have nearly 30 originals
and out of those 30 songs 'Killer On A Rampage' and 'Mudhole' are screamed out..."

4. what is the concept behind the name of your album, "album name", what does that mean?

"Our soon-to-be-released album entitled 'CALLOUSED' pretty much talks about the struggles
of being in a band for many years. Some of the songs touch on a couple personal struggles
and overcame.

5. who is producing "album name"  and what has the experience been like so far?

"We all are producing the album. Its not a walk in the park for sure..."

6. when fans come to an "name of the show" show, what kind of show can they hope to see?

"Since we don't get the pleasure to play a lot of ALL AGES shows, wish we could, people
that come to see us in a bar or opening for a major band should expect an assault on their
precious eardrums, their adrenaline will take a beating too and drink some cold adult
beverages and have a great time!..."

7. are you girls/guys generally considered to be a good live band?

"We think so. And judging over the years from many other bands, fans and live music
lovers think so too..."

8. describe your typical fan.

"Rowdy, crazy, happy, sometimes drunk..."

9. whats the biggest show you have played so far and how did it go?

"For me, opening for the mighty SOULFLY on Aug. 12, 2014 in OKC at The Chameleon
Room. Its our 2nd time opening for them. SIX FEET UNDER, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD &
PSYCHOSTICK were great too but SOULFLY hands down was the best so far..."

10. whats the worst experience you ever had while out touring with the band?

"Touring we haven't did yet, but if I had to pin point something that fucking sucked is back
in 2003 a local venue(now defunct) was changing people at the door to drink off kegs for
the whole night just by paying 1nce at the door. The kegs were empty, the ladies bathrooms
weren't working at all, some ladies had to go outside to pop a squat or go to the nasty ass
titty flops(strip club) next door. The venue refused to refund the crowds money. So that pissed
us off, we took the entire venue with us and threw a impromptu block party that night in our
neighborhood..."

11. when you're out there on the road, do you have an agenda to connect with people?

"Yup, talk to every single person that shows interest in your band or just wants to meet and
say hi and tell us about their experience. We in Komatryp are always willing to take time to
shoot the shit with everybody we meet and tell them what social sites they can follow us,
connect with us on too..."

12. if you could put together the "perfect tour", what bands would you pick to tour with and why?

"Whoa... I'll get back to you on that. That's a hard one. lol..."

13. whats your favorite band of all time?

"For me, its a tie between early DANZIG(1st 3 albums only) OLD METALLICA & PANTERA..."

14. what is your favorite album or song that you can't stop listening to right now?

"Currently, CALIBAN 'We Are The Many' song just sick and CARCASS 'HEARTWORK' album.
Still brutal after 20yrs..."

15. what are your hopes for the future regarding "name of the band"?

"That we can still continue making music that not just us enjoy but others will too..."

16. where do you see yourselves in 10 years?

"Hopefully, more money in the bank and less health issues..."

17. where are ya from?

"I was born in Honolulu, Hawaii but raised corrupted in Lawton, Oklahoma..."

18. who is the primary writer of the song lyrics?

"Myself and Mike..."

19. do you prefer indoor or out door while playing?

"Doesn't really matter I don't think as long as its not scorch the earth hot and there's
something COLD to drink..."

20. ultimate stage fantasy? what would you most want to happen?

"I want to stand on stage with my Komatryp brothers and play a destructive set in front
of 100,000 people..."

21. what is your hidden talents?

" I don't think I have any, but if I come up on 1, I'll let you know Jax! Hahaha..."

King Pariah Interview

KING PARIAH 1.) Please introduce yourselves and tell us what you do in the band? Hey! My name is Patrick and I am the vocalist in King Pariah. We are a heavy metal/death metal band from a really small town in Upstate New York. 2.) How did you girls/guys end up coming together as a band? Well I recently joined the band back in February and I was asked to audition for the band. And all the other members go to the same school. 3.) Do the core fans of the band have a particular song they really seem to have latched onto? Our most popular song is 'Burning the 6th'. Some think it's our heaviest song and people just love it. 4.) What is the concept behind the name of your album, "album name", what does that mean? Our newest album that is coming on soon, is titled Civil Unrest. It's somewhat about stopping war and whatnot. 5.) Who is producing "album name", and what has the experience been like so far? So far, we've been home recording. It's been good so far and we may even stick with that. 6.) When fans come to an "name of the show" show, what kind of show can they hope to see? They can expect an energetic show and full of fun and excitement. Everyone deserves a chance to see us. 7.) Are you girls/guys generally considered to be a good live band? Yes! We've been told numerous times, no matter where we play, that we are energetic and we know what we're doing. 8.) Describe your typical fan. Our typical fan is nothing too big, supports us and wears our shirts and whatnot. The occasional mosh pit is a great welcome. 9.) What's the biggest show you have played so far and how did it go? We played a stop on The Summer Slaughter Tour 2014 and it was a big one for us. Great turnout, great people and a great venue. 10.) What's the worst experience you ever had while out touring with the band? We have yet to actually tour but the worst experience is definitely playing with bands that don't fit the bill or aren't the same genre. 11.) When you're out there on the road, do you have an agenda to connect with people? Not really, we just connect with people whenever. 12.) If you could put together the "perfect tour", what bands would you pick to tour with and why? The Perfect Tour would consist of us, Thy Art is Murder, King Parrot, Rings of Saturn, and Fit For an Autopsy. But that's just my opinion, not the whole band. 13.) What's your favorite band of all time? My favorite band of all time. That's a tough question. I'm gonna go with either Whitechapel or Avenged Sevenfold. I know, it's quite the mix but I like a bit of everything. 14.) What is your favorite album or song that you can't stop listening to right now? I'm in love with the new Whitechapel album 'Our Endless War'. The tracks dig deep and I like that about it. An emotional album. 15.) What are your hopes for the future regarding "name of the band"? We hope to get something going with bigger tours and bigger shows. You'll see the name King Pariah a lot in the near future, I promise. 16.) Where do you see yourselves in 10 years? In 10 years, I believe we should have successfully made it into the business and have quite a lot of fans. Most bands have gotten fame in 6-8 years. So hopefully we get that lucky. 17.) Where are ya from? I personally am from Saratoga, NY but the rest of the band is from a small town called Argyle, NY. 18.) Who is the primary writer of the song lyric's? Our drummer Jake is normally the song writer. But, when it's urgent or he can't get anything good down, he sends it my way. 19.) Do you prefer indoor or outdoor while playing? I personally have yet to play outdoors so it's tough to say. 20.) Ultimate stage fantasy? What would you most want to happen? I would love to play with Lamb of God. It'd be the best thing to happen for us. But, I mean, who doesn't want to play with them. 21.) What is your hidden talents? I can actually sing. Unlike most vocalists who just scream. I do both but have yet to include it on our music and I am currently planning out a Solo EP. I'm also really good with graphic design and booking shows. So, I'm quite the package.

Sleaze Dizeaze Interview

SLEAZE DIZEAZE 1.Please introduce yourselves and tell us what you do in the band? I'm Joey Mandigo, I play the drums in the band. I'm Terrence Atkins, I do lead guitar and vocals. I'm David Warren, I slap the bass in a the Dizeaze. I'm Alma I'm the rhythm guitarist 2. How did you girls/guys end up coming together as a band? Joey: Oh that's a long story. I met our ex- guitarist Darian Thompson back in 2010 in Oklahoma. We met over Craigslist, and we started jamming and we suddenly clicked, don't know how. And we auditioned many guitarists and bassists but just didn't get the right match. In September of 2011, I moved out of state for 2 years to live with my family. I returned to Oklahoma of June of 2013 and met back up with Darian and our new guitarist. Terrence. And the bassist Christopher Harrison, We jammed all that summer. Played a couple gigs, recorded Warzone. And now Darian quit the band and we fired Chris. So here we are. 3. Do the core fans of the band have a particular song they really seem to have latched onto? Joey: Um. Haha, I'm not entirely sure. People really seem to like "Asphyxiation" or "This End" are really the songs that push people. Other than that. Umm. Some new songs that haven't been recorded yet like "My Execution" or "Woman In White". Which will be out soon. 4. What is the concept behind the name of your album, "album name", what does that mean? Terrence: Its called Warzone because thats how this life we live now is like. A war. Everything is a war. And how we have to fight to live and keep pushing. A Warzone determines to live or die just by the matter of how hard you push and how content you can stay and how persistent you are. How much you can endure and how much your willing to fight. Every song has its own morals but they all link up to rising up, fighting for your life, staying strong and content, and being the strongest you can be. Life is rough. Things will get better in the end. But you have to fight to be who you want to be, believe in what you want to believe, live how you want to live, and to do what you have to do. Life is a Warzone. You may have won one battle. But the war Is something where things shift into place. And if you can make it past with the war with your self and others. You are the Warrior or Soldier at heart. 5. Who is producing "album name", and what has the experience been like so far? Joey: Shaun Ladymon. He is the guitarist for the Oklahoma band "Crazy Love Hawk" we found him again on the Internet, and he is just a incredible producer at his rate. He was very professional and he had a good laugh with us at the studio a few times. I think he really enjoyed recording something outside of his usual style. 6. When fans come to an "name of the show" show, what kind of show can they hope to see? Terrence: Real metal being revived, talent like crazy, kids having fun and playing metal music you love, and a dude in a dead bunny costume run around on and off stage, in and outside the moshpit as that Native guy with the war paint screaming and singing into that mic while playing guitar haha 7. Are you girls/guys generally considered to be a good live band? Terrence: We dont really rank ourselves. We just go on stage and give our all. We dont ever play a show without giving it our all. Why go into a show with our heads bowed. Screw that. If we're gonna go. We're gonna go in swinging. There are many people(fans) that later tell us that we killed it and were the spotlight. Just cuz of our age, our energy, and drive. People come to our show. Get infected with the Sleaze Dizeaze and leave with a smile on their faces. And thats all we care about. The audience and fans. To make them leave happy and give them something to talk about the following days until the next show Alma; At Norman Music Fest we drew a huge crowd. we stole people from the 2 stages next to us 8. Describe your typical fan. Terrence: Well we dont have just one particular fan type. We have them all amazingly. All races, all ages, all kinds. Theyre all amazing. We have fans from the ages of 5(rylan) to about age 37. And the older ones are saying that its amazing how we're bring back actual metal. That it makes them proud to see kids our age. Play metal they enjoyed watching back when they were kids. Its funny how they expected us to be like the rest of many bands today. In order to have all these fans. You have to play something they all like. And thats what we do. We dont label ourselves on the type of metal we play. Cuz we all have our own vibes. But in a way they all connect. We have thrash, melodic death metal, punk, heavy metal, groove metal, and all types. And its so happens that these types of metal brings us our amazing fan base. So we'll keep writing the way we do for the people. 9. What's the biggest show you have played so far and how did it go? Alma: Norman Music Festival. It was my first show with Sleaze. We got permission to set up just in any empty place and play. We ended up having to relocate 3 times, but finally we began playing and the crowds began to gather. We easily had. At least 70-80 people intently watching us each set. We earned a lot of loyal fans in our home town that year. Its definitely a memorable show compared to some others. 10. What's the worst experience you ever had while out touring with the band? Alma: Terrences mom getting stuck in the McDonalds Parking lot with a trailer Terrence: dropping a pick Alma: My tie trying to palm mute for me at the Chameleon Room Joey: breaking a drumstick on stage. Or a drumhead. Whichever affects my playing. 11. When you're out there on the road, do you have an agenda to connect with people? Terrence: Well you need to have support from many people. From bands and promoters. But usually we end up talking to them because its Cool to make friends and meet new people. Alma: simple, sit back. 12. If you could put together the "perfect tour", what bands would you pick to tour with and why? David: Coldplay Joey: Exodus, Lazarus A.D., and Hardline Terrence: Zerotheist, Salvations Lost, Anti Mortem, Hatebreed, Amon Amarth, And Lamb Of God. And Because with these bands. We all fit in today. We all have that drive. And intensity. Theres bands that we are close friends with. And bands that we all love. Otherwise we would have all picked Pantera haha. 13. What's your favorite band of all time? Terrence: Trivium David: AC/DC Joey: Exodus. Alma: Cradle Of Filth 14. What is your favorite album or song that you can't stop listening to right now? David: Chaos A.D by Sepultura Terrence: Onslaught by Lazarus A.D Joey: Shovel headed kill machine by Exodus 15. What are your hopes for the future regarding "name of the band"? Terrence: To make it big. So we can help others that need help that are alone. From anxiety to suicidal thoughts. We hope to help them and give them a voice because I was the same. But I found music as a vent. And so do many teens and kids these days. And write about native culture and let more people know about the truth of what happened and aware of what happen to the native people then. So we hope to make it big with all the other bands. And live our dreams as musicians on the stage to not only live our dreams. But to give a voice to the voiceless, and write the truth about native culture to let people be aware of the truth. 16. Where do you see yourselves in 10 years? Terrence: At Wacken, Ozzfest, Sleaze Fest. Joey: hopefully less than that we can fufill our dreams as a band. 17. Where are ya from? Joey: Norman, Oklahoma 18. Who is the primary writer of the song lyric's? Joey: Terrence mainly. People contribute though. 19. Do you prefer indoor or outdoor while playing? Terrence: Anything with a stage. It could be in a bear pit. And pretty sure we wouldnt care. Joey: Outdoorz. 20. Ultimate stage fantasy? What would you most want to happen? Have 20-30 people in our runny Babbitt costume come out and run and stage dive into the crowd and head straight to the pit while we play our new thrash metal song "Rabbit Season" 21. What is your hidden talents? Joey: my hidden talent is to play the drums haha. But I don't think I have one haha. Terrence: David can play a mean triangle, alma is the youngest one but can shred better than anyone else I know. Joey is Fucking amazing and can play to anything and has a very wide variety of music to play and can hit any beat on spot. And me well. Playing and singing isnt very easy. But to me it isnt very hard. I can skate and go to numerous Powwows and dance

Corners of Sanctuary Interview

CORNERS OF SANCTUARY 1. Please introduce yourselves and tell us what you do in the band? Hey everyone, we are Corners Of Sanctuary. My name is Mick Michaels and I play guitar in the band. The other members include Sean Nelligan on drums, James Pera on bass and Frankie Cross on vocals. 2. How did you girls/guys end up coming together as a band? Back in 2010, James, Sean and myself were working on a short lived reunion project with a band called Seeker. We played with in the late 80's. During that time, Sean and I started talking about writing some new material, going back to our roots with the music. So that's what we did and Corners Of Sanctuary started to take shape. 3. Do the core fans of the band have a particular song they really seem to have latched onto? "On The Hunt" has become a real favorite with the fans. Playing it live, Frankie get's the audience to sing along during the chorus. 4. What is the concept behind the name of your album, "album name", what does that mean? Our current full-length is titled "Axe To Grind". To us it's an attitude about facing what is bugging you head on, kind of like taking the bull by the horns and running with it. The theme of the album follows that sentiment - facing fears and overcoming them, staying focused and overcoming distractions. 5.Who is producing "album name", and what has the experience been like so far? I was fortunate to be involved with producing "Axe To Grind". We like to keep things in-house. We definitely have an agenda with the music and the sound and feel we can best serve our own interests to achieve what we are looking for. Producing the album take you further into the creative process. You gain a deeper understanding of the material on so many levels. 6. When fans come to an "name of the show" show, what kind of show can they hope to see? Fans can expect a hard-hitting, head-banging show. When they come to see Corners Of Sanctuary live. It's classic Heavy Metal with a modern adaptation. Each song just keeps the place electrified. 7. Are you girls/guys generally considered to be a good live band? We've been told we do a pretty good job =] We are definitely heavier live than on the albums. However, it has designed that way. The albums are one listening experience. Live is a whole other beast. 8. Describe your typical fan. I don't think that we have a "typical fan". Which is cool! That means we are making connections across a larger plain. There's room for everyone in the COS Nation. 9. What's the biggest show you have played so far and how did it go? This year we had two actually. The first was this past May when we opened for Anvil at the Reverb in Reading, PA. It was awesome and the place was electric. The crowd really took us. The second was in July when we played at the Trocadero Theater in Philadelphia. Both shows were explosive. The crowd fed off of us and we fed off the energy of the crowds. We did a live recording from our show at the Trocadero which is now available for download. 10. What's the worst experience you ever had while out touring with the band? Sadly, there a more than we like to admit but that is part of the game. It is not uncommon for the out of town band to get bumped around a bit with time slots, however they don't tell you this until you are already in and set up. But we always make the most of it and give them a great performance. Once we traveled to a show that included a couple of touring bands on the bill - we wound up being the only band to show. The plus side was that we got to play a much longer set - so we were both the opener and headlining act. 11. When you're out there on the road, do you have an agenda to connect with people? We definitely stay connected through social media while playing out - posting photo's or short messages. We also work in some radio interviews to promote the shows. This also helps to break things up when traveling. Most of the time you can find a merch table at the shows, so this gives us a chance to interact with people as well. 12. If you could put together the "perfect tour", what bands would you pick to tour with and why? Part of the dream is to tour with Judas Priest and Accept. Both of those bands are huge influences on us individually as well as a band. They are our roots. Playing with them would validate this whole crazy ride. 13. What's your favorite band of all time? Mine personally would be Judas Priest. James is a big AC/DC fan. Sean is into Dio. I really don't know about Frankie. He's bit of a private guy. 14. What is your favorite album or song that you can't stop listening to right now? I love Judas Priest's - "Stained Class" album - thats the album I aspire to make. And "Beyond The Realms Of Death", I can listen to that song over and over again. Lately though, I have been in a KISS phase, the original line up from the 70's. There is something raw and adventurous about the music and mythology of that time. 15. What are your hopes for the future regarding "name of the band"? The goal is just to keep making music and have fun doing it. With all the other stuff involved, it can often become overwhelming. Focusing on the music and it's power keeps us wanting to do our best and share what we have created with others. Besides that we was currently working on a new album. 16. Where do you see yourselves in 10 years? Wow, 10 years is a long time in this business...I believe we hope to be finishing up another world tour with a couple of months off before heading into the studio to record the next record. Sounds good to me! But for now we are just going to keep on doing what we are doing and enjoy it for what it's worth. 17. Where are ya from? We are from Philadelphia, PA. Except Frankie, he is from Scranton, PA. 18. Who is the primary writer of the song lyric's? Sean and I share alot the lyric writing. Both of us are always jotting lines down. We present what we have to one another and there are always tweaks with the arrangements once the lyric's are placed with music. That's normal. So if I write the lyric's, which was the case with the "Axe To Grind" album, Sean works the majority of the vocal arrangements. Then during recording, I throw in a twist here or there to add to the overall mix. But so far it is a formula that is working. 19. Do you prefer indoor or outdoor while playing? That's a toss-up. Outdoor shows have an energy all their own. The openess creates a freedom as if you are playing to the world. Indoor shows create more of an intimate setting and most of the time you can't beat the climate control. 20. Ultimate stage fantasy? What would you most want to happen? Ultimate stage fantasy would be like the inside gate photo of KISS Alive II - explosions, drum set on a 30 foot riser, the building lights, a confetti storm - that would be exhilarating. But I'd settle for a great show at Madison Square Garden. 21. What is your talents? I like to draw and design. James has the gift of gab. If you need something, James can get it for you - he can talk his way through anything. Frankie does a great impression of a baby crying - almost surreal. And, Sean is a helleva dancer.
